Scientific Sessions

Sessions of different formats will cover the important fields of dermatology and venereology.
Subjects will be treated with different approaches, different perspectives and different formats, depending on the level and structure of the session. The following session types will be scheduled throughout the duration of the Congress and are available to all registered participants: Plenary Lectures, Spotlights, Review and Updates, Expert Forum, Training and Educational Forum, Free Communications, Oral e-Poster sessions and much more…

The scientific programme has been organised on full or half-day tracks; each track has a specific topic and a structured programme. Three separate levels are offered: one junior track for Trainees and Residents, another for Board-Certified Dermatologists and Venereologists and a third level for Expert Specialists. Entry will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.

Review and Updates

The presentations in these tracks are aimed at Board Certified Dermato-Venereologists and will include short reviews, with an extended update and a strong focus on medical and surgical dermatology.

Expert Forum

This third level is an expert forum where the most experienced specialists can find a platform to critically exchange and debate the newest developments in dermatology and venereology.

Training and Educational Forum

Young trainees in dermatology who will receive training in the basic understanding of important diseases and classical treatments.

We have endeavoured to include the latest developments and updates, innovative treatment modalities and new areas of clinical research and development, to keep up with the ever-changing world of skin diseases and improve European dermatology for our patients with skin diseases.

Session Halls

All scientific session rooms for the 28th EADV Congress are located within the IFEMA convention centre in Madrid. Seating is regulated on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend you go to the session room well in advance of the session to ensure your place. Due to safety regulations, the organisers will close the access to the session if all seats are occupied. Delegates are not permitted to stand in the aisles of the session rooms.

Official Language

English will be the official language of the Congress. There will be no simultaneous translation.

Oral Presentations

Computer projection facilities (for PowerPoint presentations) will be available in the meeting rooms. Presenting authors will receive all technical information and instructions prior to the Congress in order to ensure the smooth running of sessions.

Free Communications

The authors will have 7 minutes for presentation + 2 minutes for discussion. A short PowerPoint presentation may be used, with the first slide disclosing any conflict of interest. Presenting authors will receive all technical information and details prior to the Congress.

Online Resources

To keep with current trends to go green and to provide a simply paper-less solution, the EADV, like many other associations these days, has decided to stop the wastage of printed materials and will now move forward to produce exclusively digital and electronic documents.

Starting in Paris, you will now no longer receive the final programme book in its printed paper format. We therefore direct you to the following links where you can either:

  1. Download the event app (available approximately one week before the event)
  2. Consult the online daily scientific programme.
  3. Download the full pdf programme on the e-Congress page (Please note the programme will available a few weeks before the event).

We strongly suggest the use of the App as it will contain the most updated information and will give you the opportunity to interact freely with all activities and facilities planned around the Congress (instant access to floorplans, exhibition booths, location of meetings, evaluation forms, etc.)
